Italy, the Tyrrhenian Sea, seafront of Salerno

There is an interesting fact bound to this part of the seafront of Salerno, a little town situating not so far from Naples (60 km). It was built with the detrits of the last big flood of 1954 when about 120 persons died. The Old town was covered with the mud and all kinds of detrits for 3 and more meters. The persons could touch the clock of the clock-tower of the church with their hands.

Residents cleaned all that detrits and put them near the sea. And the seafront was built over them…

Tirrenian Sea, Mediterranean sea, Italy

Warm and calm water of the Tirrenian Sea in Italy. It is similar to a kitten or better to a puppy that plays near your feet and invites you to join it.

You lay down on the sand, take a pose of a seal and allow it to push you. It laughs joyously and is so content to put sand and shingles into your swimsuit…

Winter Sea

Winter

This is the Tyrrhenian Sea in winter. Sunny days were so rare here this year! I remember when I come to live in Italy, I loved the weather in winter because they were very warm. You could go out with light clothes all the Dicember. Practically it was eternal spring and I told to eerybody I live in Paradise.

Now the climate is changed and it rains 2 years with little periods of sunny days all year round. It was raining 2 days ago – and it was imposssible even in 2007 that it rains in August.

Venice Mask

This masks are sold all year long in Venice. There are different varieties. I liked this one for it’s mystic black. Other colors were better or worse, they were more merry maybe but only this was mysterious.
